Cheryl D. S. Walker, a respected commercial transactions attorney and economic empowerment advocate, has become the new SBEC Board Chairman. Walker succeeds Alan Richter, executive director of Regional Union Construction Center, who had served in the role since SBEC's inception.
Executive Director Kevin Wilson calls Walker a thought leader. "Cheryl knows economic development, has a keen legal mind, and is devoted to serving others," Wilson said. "She truly exemplifies our mission of uplifting entrepreneurs."

Kevin Wilson, Executive Director
Thousands of St. Louis-area entrepreneurs have benefitted from Kevin Wilson’s ability to help launch successful businesses. Kevin, a highly respected small business consultant and entrepreneurial coach, has decades of experience in SBA lending, deal structuring, tax credits, and business strategy. He is passionate about economic development, small business finance, and building community wealth.
Kevin is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council and a graduate of Leadership St. Louis. He serves as board president of T-REX, a non-profit innovation and entrepreneur development center dedicated to strengthening the economic vitality of St. Louis.
Kevin received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
